Volunteer

It is so fulfilling to volunteer in our community. Last week we participated in our local event for The great American Clean up. The kids did a great job picking up trash and cleaning up our roads. I hope that they grow up learning service. We also help with our chapter of Compass. It is a great support group for our military spouses. Today we served up some great food and information and look forward to the rest of the classes. If you don't already find a place to volunteer and feel yourself grow. there is nothing like being the hands and feet of our savior Jesus Christ.

We had a good day today. One of those beautiful days were my temper is as cool as the spring breeze. The kids smiled and laughed and I laughed with them. Ryland giggled and Russell wanted to be tickled every where. Today is a golden memory day. I got some great pictures of the kids in their silliness.

The Big Beach Bummer

How many years and how many children do you have before you start to figure things out? I ask because Tuesday I made some pretty big mistakes. It all started well enough, carefully packing and preprepared, even leaving on time.

Once we got to the beach though I realized that I wouldn't be able to use the stroller in the sand. So I loaded myself up and started walking (even grabbing the baby in his carseat). Why didn't I just carry him? This was immediately followed by Russell whining "Mom you are walking too fast!" and Amellia saying "Mom too heavy" She was carrying a tin bucket and plastic cup. If you can believe it we were still a foot ball field away from the beach line where we needed to be, and only feet from the car. I should have just turned around. It took a while and two trips back along the way to carry everything and everybody (tears and all to the beach) Everything was magically lighter on the beach. The kids picked up all their toys and once and tried to run off.

I had to wrangle them back and slather on the sun screen. Then it was an ultimate Wrestling match between me and the awning. It turned into a giant kite. I was feeling more and more defeated by this excursion as you can imagine so I got angry and tried to force the awning into the sand. A wonderful friend of mine tried to help me when she came, but to no avail. In the end it laid lifeless and unhelpful on the sand.

While I had been wrestling the "Kite" Amellia had been bumped by it and became hysterical when ever it fluttered, and Ryland cried from being thirsty and not being held.

I must admit that for over and hour everything went great. We talked blew bubbles, waded in the water, and enjoyed the sun.

Leaving though was just as fussy if not more. The kids fell sleep as soon as we got in the car and I having committed no murder treated myself to a blue coconut icee and a burger. Wednesday I realized that I had bruised my fore arms and shoulders carrying too much stuff. Summer, Bring it on. I won't make the same mistakes again. LOL

Awe the adventures of breakfast. Who knew that Cinnamon Sugar Oatmeal could feel so good? Amellia is famous for putting her little hands in everything, and today it was her oh so yummy oatmeal. It was good enough for her to put both hands in and then lick them off.

At lease it was yummy till she realized that Russell was having Toast with Honey on it. She asked for his other piece and ate every crumb. He willing gave up his food, as always. He did enjoy telling me today that his shorts were too tight and needed to be loosened. He loves growing up. I am glad that he is growing up to be such a great helper!

Now for the rest of the day, here we go.

Wow I can't believe that it has been so long since I updated this. Sorry for the terrible delay! I have been trying to keep up with other stuff and have just let other things slide. We are enjoying a beautiful day her Ga and the kids are up and inventing games. They are "swimming" all over the living room floor, and diving in from the couches and chairs. They are such a joy to me. Today Randy and I are celebrating 5 years of marriage. What a blessing it has been to be his wife, and the mother of his children. Happy Anniversary!

Ahh it is the season for projects. I love to get into all my craft stuff and finish things from last year and start new projects for next year. LOL I still have blankets and humanitarian stuff to work on, not to mention everything I would like to do on the house. Curtains, throws, pillows, kitchen accents, and more. I have a huge garden project for this year and I am so excited to plant and tend. It is so refreshing to be outside and help things grow. All smiles and hard work. Leisel

I am torn apart inside because I have again witnessed the dissolving of marriage. I have two friends who were recently divorced.... I am shocked and so sad I can hardly express it. It makes me wonder why the fundamentals of life have been over looked. How is it that we do not forget to teach our children how to read or write? Yet we some how forget to teach them about the most significant relationship that they will have with another person? That they will have to give 100% and expect nothing in return, that it will nearly break you and that somehow the process will make you the best person that you can be? That giving yourself wholly to another person will make you happy.... I am so happy with my life, because I have had great examples of how hard it is to make it work, and yet how worth it, it is. I have a wonderful husband, and we have a great relation ship, but that doesn't mean we don't continue our marriage education. We watch discussions, we talk to each other, we learn together, we work together, most importantly we pray together.
Life is a long and wonderful lesson, and its most beautiful most breathtaking rewards are those simple moments holding hands or on a walk together, those little words, "I love you" and the task of enduring forever, because there is no end to Gods most splendid blessing. Marriage. We should teach our children by example and by what ever means are available about maintaining marriage, good, happy, strong marriage and all that it takes to make one.
Marriage is an empty box, you only get out of it what you put in to it. Shouldn't we put in our best so that your children and grand children are free from the bitter pain and needless loss of divorce. Divorce is a disease that is spreading with pandemic force through our world. No one is untouched by it. But are we looking for a cure, when there already is one?????
Selflessness, Education, Hard work, Prayer and Faithfulness. Some of life's most challenging situations have the most simple solutions.

Holy Cow I love reading about amazing people. I listen to books while I work on www.gutenberg.org. They have hundreds of classic literature available to read or listen to. It is a great way to get house work done and keep up on my reading at the same time. I would recommend it to anyone who needs time to read, or be read to as it were.

A trip to the Court house..

I spent two hours this morning in the Norfolk Court house waiting to dispute a parking violation. The citation was dismissed, thankfully. While I was listening to the various cases, it was interesting to me to see how many people just pleaded guilty and then talked patiently with the judge about the wrong doing and sentencing. There were only 2 women who let a little emotion escape. I was also so sad to see several sailors there for DUI's. What a tragedy, when so many options for transportation are available. The military punishment for such a violation is severe enough, let alone to have it compounded by a state fine, and other punishment. I am so glad that my Sailor doesn't drink. It saves us money, and time, and even more precious it saves lives.

A Pleasant Suprise

I was shocked last night when a quiet evening with a couple friends turned out to be a surprise going away party for me. I was surrounded by women that I love and we had a great time chatting, and opening some wonderful gifts. Everyone had made delicious desserts and i enjoyed a helping of every one. We looked at pictures of the house and I told them all about my plans for a garden, play area, and decorations. Several of them went in on a gift card to TJ maxx. I found out that there are three in Jacksonville. I love going there to find house hold treasures, and fabulous home accents. Thank You girls!!!

I have made so many wonderful friends here in Norfolk. I hope to be able to visit and keep in touch with all of them. They have gone out of there way to make me feel welcome and needed. I give my love to all of them freely and hope that each of them know how grateful I am to know them. My life is a brilliant tapestry, woven with the colors of friendly faces and warm embraces. Moving around isn't always easy, but it is worth it. I have met so many people who have been a wonderful influence and have changed me for the better. I love you Norfolk ward sisters, Thank You.

A place to call our own....

Our trip to St Marys Ga last week was a total success. A wonderful Century 21 Realtor Vila Paulk drove us all over town in her beautiful Toyota Avalon. We have picked a three bed room two bath home with a HUGE yard. Luckily our Friends, and Neighbors, the Ellsworth's have a riding lawn mower.

It is 523 Moeckel . We are praying, and hope others will pray with us, that the closing takes place on Jan 30th, so that Randy will be able to be there.

Oh how we will miss our friends here in Norfolk. We would like to have a farewell get together this month or early next month. So watch for the date.

I have fallen in love! With the Toyota Avalon. While we were in Georgia looking for a house our realtor drove us all over in hers. WOW! It fits two car seats and an adult in the back seat. No matter how far I scooted my seat back it didn't get any where near the passenger. The floor in the back was like a van, no console or anything. So if you were sitting in the center of the back your feet aren't six inches higher( and in my case under your chin). It gets great gas mileage and has way cool features. I built my dream one on line.
THAT IS WHEN I FELL OFF MY CHAIR!!!!! Toyota Avalon's fully loaded cost 32,000.00$ Can you imagine the insurance? Even the five year old used ones are 18,000.00. Good grief. I guess I will have to save my shekels for a while, (the sort of while that lasts 10 years). I found one in Jacksonville for 8000 but it is a 92 or something and with a house payment now it is a no go.
Well it is good to have dreams uhh? I love my little zippy civic, but man did it feel cramped after having some serious elbow room. Who knew space could cost you so much?

I just finished putting the key board of Randy's lap top back together. I left Russell in the dinning room in his chair at the table, watching Pixars Cars, to sort the laundry and put the baby down. When I came back into the dinning room I discovered to my horror that Russell had taken 20 or more keys off of Randy's key board. AHHHHH. He just looked at me like hey mom look how cool this looks under all those boring keys!!!!! It took me 20 min to get each little plastic fitting back together. I am glad no real damage was done. I am also glad that toddlers are so cute, or not many of us would have survived childhood. LOL

Merry Christmas and seasons greetings to all our friends and family!!! We hope the holiday spirit fills you with hope and joy. Russell and I have enjoyed looking at all the Christmas lights and decorations. There are so many beautifully decorated homes in our area. Every where we go we see the joy of the season. Amellia is loving her first Christmas. She loves to sit and look at our Christmas tree when the lights are on. Russell helped me decorate the tree and everyday adds more orniments. Of course they are only on the bottom foot of the tree, and in one spot. I will have to put a picture of it on here.

Happiness

Ahh, true happiness has seeped its way into my life more fully. I am overwhelmed by the simple happiness that my life is filled with. My son Russell is a gem in my life, giving a new value to waking up every morning. He is so happy all the time! He smiles and plays and laughs all day. He loves the simple things, dirt, a puddle, a ball, a bug. He talks all the time about things that are big and small, and screams with delight when he sees a city or school bus. His joy isn't complete till he shares the joy of a white city bus, or yellow school bus we pass in our errand running.
How did I forget to find joy in all these little things? I know I was once a happy little kid just like that. I am happy to be sure, but sometimes it is more complicated than an excursion to the back yard. I have been trying lately to find greater happiness in the little things. The more I look at the little things the more I realize what big blessings they are.
My husband is awesome for starters. I really hope that I can help raise Russell to be that kind of wonderful. He sure has a great example to follow. I want to be a great mom, and I know lots, but sometimes I get off track and make a big deal out of little problems. Russell is a delight to my soul, and this new baby bumping around inside me has me all excited about being a mother of two.
Simple is so beautiful, I am going to try more of it.

Bode Family Update

We are having a great month! Russell and I have been going to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens each morning to walk and play. The winding wooded paths are so beautiful, tranquil, and refreshing. Russell loves riding the Tram around the gardens, and playing in the World of Wonders area for kids. It never fails to have him go down for a nap in the car because he is so tired from running and playing.

Today we did something different though and it was great. We went on the boarder between the Garden and the Airport to watch the planes. They even have a radio so you can hear what the pilots and tower personnel are doing.

This weekend is the Oceania Airshow and everyday there are new pictures in the paper. Russell is so excited to see it. Though I don't know how he will handle the noise.

Randy is doing well at work, they are making slow progress, but I am optimistic. The baby and I are doing great. We have an ultra sound appointment scheduled for next Wednesday. We look forward to sharing some new photos of our baby. It is all so exciting and coming so fast. When I blink hours pass, and I am not getting enough done. The story of my life.

As the Holidays approach I am so excited for the fun and decorating. We are hoping to enjoy some of the events in Williams burg this holiday season.

A Trip to the Big Apple!!

We are just back from 4 days in New York City. Thanks to friends and family we knew where to go and what to do. We enjoyed our stay at doubletree hotel just off the George Washington Bridge. A short bus trip everyday to the bus station, then into New York. There was tons of walking to do. So much to see and what an adventure. These are some of the photos.

The News can be really depressing. Although I was thinking yesterday that if we watched the news and prayed for the people and familes we hear about that it would be a lot better than just worrying about those things happening to us. It is great to be prepared, but then we have to just leave it in the Lords hands. He is the only one who knows what will happen minute to minute any way. All we can do is take advantage of the time we are given and hope to be a good influence on others.

The book, A Thomas Jefferson Education by Oliver Demille has given me a wonderful sense of can do! In the first three Chapters I found a reason to read again. I discovered a place to begin my education again and looking back on the books I have read I see how they have influenced me. A favorite is Jane Eyre by Bronte. A classic for sure. I wish that I could remember the line from a walk to remember about the top 100 classics of American literature and the European list of 100 classics. I may just have to watch it again, darn. LOL

I think that there are a few things to be said about the recent ruling in Los Angeles California, forcing parents of home schooled kids to have a teaching credential. I was irate and shocked at such an intrusive ruling. The implications of such a law and its enforcement is way out the possible reach of California's police and legal power.
I have 2 degrees and a lot medical service training, yet I would not be allowed to home school my son after the age of five. The decision would require thousands of persons on huge task forces to enforce. Where the heck would the state of California get that money? The idea must be to see a flash flood of enrolment for teaching credentials. The state will probably start a program; "Get your teaching credentials in 6 weeks! State certified! Only 5,000 dollar's! What a deal!"
The schools are swamped with high student teacher ratios. Where would they put them all? The state of California should be looking at why people are taking there kids out of schools if they want a solution. The public system hads so many faults, holes, and problems they don't know what to do. Some of their credentialed teachers are harassing, neglecting, abusing, and not educating kids. They are babysitting. So moms and dads keep their kids home and do their best to teach them. I feel that the parents who care enough to make the sacrifice to stay home and teach their kids are doing all they can to teach them. By furthering their own educations, joining groups, and reaching out in every direction to build just the right curriculum.
Every group and organazation has there fanatics. Including the judicial system! This is a huge can of worms!!!! California must have some sadistic plot to get everyone to move out of the state. I can say that I will be the first to change my residency and pay taxes towards a state who isn't trying to dictate my every move.

March is a great month to start gardening. I have started all my plants indoors and I am just waiting for some warmer weather. I went to the most beautiful garden nursery I have ever been too in Virginia beach. It is called McDonalds and wow it is spectacular. It makes me want to build a green house.

Russell and I are enjoying some truly wonderful weather her in VA. We have spent our mornings walking in the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. The flowers are blooming and spring is coming up fast. The weather has been great but I am afraid that it will bring an especially hot summer. Here that could be really bad with humidity in the 80 and 90 percent! Yuck. Recently my Family and I discovered the author Stephanie Meyer. She has written three story's that my Husband and I found enthralling. A new twist on old folklore and legend it is breathtaking and intense. Titled Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse. Anyone would like these books. I am looking forward to more books written by Stephanie.

Hello Friends!
I am happy to report that I will be regularly posting now that I have access to the Internet. It is a great blessing. I have so much news and Russell is always learning new things. My favorite thing so far about having the Internet is I can BYU TV all day long. There are such amazing and praiseworthy programs. Things that are actually good, on TV. Who knew?
So the Bode Family update.
Our family vacation in December was fantastic. Russell and I began our trip on December 4th. Traveling from Norfolk to Denver where we were greeted warmly by my Moms best friend. What a rescue that was. I might have managed all of my luggage, but it might have involved stopping to pick up the things I dropped and the things Russell was throwing over the edge of the stroller.
We stayed with my Grandpa for the week, while also visiting my other Grandparents during the day. It was great trip, everyone was really welcoming.
On Saturday we moved on to Beautiful, Bright, Sunny, Warm, California. Randy was able to join us there before we left. Everyone was wonderful and it was pleasure to see our friends and Family. Thank You Everyone!

I am a military wife. My husbands job is to defend our nation. So that we can be free. Don’t we want that for others? I think it is selfish to want to bring the troops home. Our military service is on a volunteer basis. That means the young men and woman and the mature leaders who guide them signed up of their own free will.
So people are saying bring the troops home, and the government (the voice of the people) is trying to “set a date for troops to come home” It has been written and said that we are wasting American blood to fight a the ghost of terrorism. I am of the opinion that any man or woman who’s life is sacrificed for others is found. Terrorism is evil. It is a secret combination. Men and women who are power hungry, vicious, murderous, and vain.
After 9-11 we rallied to find out what they were going to do to protect us, but it took longer than the quick fix, I want it right now, Americans thought it would. We wanted a war on terrorism. Justice for the innocent who were killed. We want to be safe in our homes in our neighborhoods in our work places. We don’t want to be randomly attacked and live in fear that there will be no tomorrow.
There are families in Iraq. There are Mothers, Fathers, and children, who are afraid, who come up missing, who are gunned down, and slaughtered. May I ask, Who is our neighbor? The answer: Any one who we are able to help. We are able to help! We have a military that is strong, trained and well lead. Let them do the job they wanted to do, and lets be the country that they would want to defend.
Their lives are not wasted, they are fighting the good fight. They are doing what is right. They are helping, sacrificing, and protecting. Some are taken, but they are now at peace. The lives that are wasted are the ones that have no desire to stand for anything, but self. The ones that give no service to others, the ones that indulge in drugs, pornography, alcohol and every other addictions. If I could choose, what cause would take my husband or son, I would pick the defense of our nation over , drugs, and alcohol related car accidents, and raves that take far more of our nations teens and young adults. These are the lives that are wasted. Not the young men and women of our nation in the military who are in need of our support. I want to be an American citizen who believes in my country and the freedom of all people to live unafraid. I am a military wife, my husband is gone, and I am glad that he has chosen such a worthy cause to defend. I hope I live worthy of the sacrifice the men and women of out military make.

Hello Virginia
We have arrived! The Bode Trio has Relocated! We now live in Norfolk VA, just off base. I have only had a few days to do research but it looks like Norfolk will keep me busy for a few years. There is tons to do no matter where you are or how fine your taste is. We have plans to do at least one family activity here in VA every month we are here.
The Virginia adventure began when we cleaned our house in South Carolina after a day of flying. It took every ounce of strength we had to get it done. We managed to only get 2 1/2 hours of sleep then drove to VA. Russell was perfect. We started off a little rough, so we took a pit stop at wal-mart to buy a baby toy with lights and music. He slept or watched his toy the rest of the trip. Randy Drove the truck piled to the brim, with both the cats. While I drove the Honda with the baby in the back seat.
WE had a couple of very fusterating turn arounds, but in the end we made it to our destination. An extended stay in chesepeake. Saturday morning our house hunt began, with news paper and map in hand. By monday we were ready to pick either a house or an appartment that we had looked at. Then we realized there was a house that we missed. So we stopped by, and the house was being shown to another couple who were eager to sign the lease. We didn't think we would even try for it, but then the landlord called and offered a price we couldn't refuse. So we now have a house and I will post photos as soon as I can.

Airport Adventure

Traveling during the holidays can be a huge stress, but being able to travel is such a blessing. Today we expected to be leaving the Charleston Airport at about 5:30. However due to fog in Charolette, our connecting flight to Colorado, we were delayed and delayed and delayed. Randy and I made use of the morning catching up on our sleep and talking to other passengers. It is sad to see that so many people take there anger out on people who have no control over wheather conditions. I myself would prefer to be safe rather than risk flying in the fog.
So about 6 hours after our original flight time we left Charleston on a changed flight to Dallas Texas. That flight also had delays, and so again we missed our connectin flight. So we waited inline and felt sorry for the ticket agents who have been trying to reange the flights. We now have flight to Colorado at 5:20 and on first class!!!! It pays to be patient.
We are curently waiting at the USO in the Dallas Airport in absolute bliss and luxury. It is a beautiful benifit of being in the US Navy. There is food, entertainment and a place to rest in peace. A soft comfortable recliner is calling my name, so I am going to take a break. It beats a terminal seat and even a choch seat on the plane all to heck. :) We are all smiles and joy.

Our Loss

This past week my Grandma Mary Jane Wright past away. She had been sick for many years, but is now free from mortal pains. As I thought about her and remebered her life, I hoped my life could be so selfless and loving. She Never Forgot anyone and we will never forget her. She always remembered birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. She sent cards and pakages, all with love. She was divoted to her friends and family. She cared unceasingly for her friends who were sick. Grandma taught with love, giving me a love for music and books. Her home was filled with small delicate treasures, dolls, toys, and she didn't scold us for exploring and playing with all her things. We loved to paly dress up and house when ever we visited.
Her home was full of love and learning. All of us grandkids have story after story of Grandma and Grandpas house. We climed, we ran, we sleded down the hill in the yard or down the stairs to the basment. We sang and played the piano we read her books, and watched Wheel of Fortune and Jepordy with her.
She was a mother of four children, and the grandmother to 11, and a great grandmother of one. Grandma was wise and wonderful and she loved us and we all love her.
She gave many gifts in life, but has left us a most beautiful gift in the end. A legacy, of love, sevice, and faith in our Redeemer. She lived a life following Christ as an example for us to follow. My Grandma Wright was a beautiful and strong woman, who I want to be like. She is one of my heros.

A Holiday Trip Home

Orders to Move

Well we now have our official notice that we will be moving to Norfolk Virginia. We plan on living just outside of Norfolk because it will be a better area to live in with our little Family. Smarter Now

In the last few weeks I have taken a new and smarter perspective on life. It wasn't like a light turning on, just a gradual realization that darn it My parents knew what they were talking about after all. It took me getting married, and having a baby for it to all sink in. My wonderful parents are still in the process of raising several younger children, and I see how truly hard it is. My husband and I have a profound and new respect for the lessons our parents tried to teach us.

Like spend your money wisely or Managing your assets to provide financial security not wealth. It seems like everyone has a very long list of needs, that can't ever be met no matter how much they make. So my husband and I decided, you know what we don't need TV, or the internet at home. Some people might think that we are crazy, but we have saved 80.00 a month alone on limited Cell phone use, no internet, and no cable. That comes to 960.00 per year saved, or spent on great trips and outings. We have spent more time getting to know and love each other, rather than vegging out on the couch ignoring each other. That is just the tip of the ice berg! We are not in debt on credit cards, and no one calls trying to get money we owe them. What a relief that is!!!!
My parents also tried to teach me responsibility , paying for things that I break, and doing my best to make things right when I can't. This lesson alone has earned me respect and good friends.
It would take me a few hours to write down everything that they have tough me or had to learn the hard way. So I will sum it up by saying how smart my parents were and are. They are great and I look up to them. Thank You Mom and Dad.

Hello Friends & Family

The month of July was full of adventure and fun. Randy and I went on a homeward visit for a little more than a week. We stopped in Denver and also in Salt Lake to visit Family. California is soo beautiful And we do miss it. Life here in South Carolina is great. The Baby is due in 10 Weeks! It is as healthy as can be and I have had a very easy and smooth pregnancy. The baby moves more and more every day. Randy and I are so excited. When ever we go to the mall we make a bee line for the baby cloths and bedroom accessories. There isn't very much that we need right now, so we are having the baby shower in November.
Randy is working hard and I am just taking care of me, the baby, and the house. Life is wonderful! We are SO blessed and so happy. Our 1 year anniversary is approaching and we have great things planned. The east coast is a great place to live and explore.

Fishing

Is there any one out there who can give me some fishing tips? I went fishing Charleston SC and could not catch a thing. We tried cat fish bait from walmart, and hot dogs, and Crickets, and Worms, and minows, without so much as a nibble. Two days of fun in the sun, but no fish to show for it. They say that there are all kinds of fish here, salt water, and fresh water. So i thought we were bound to catch somthing. any who If you now a secret fish call, or have a bait that works I would be greatful for the advice. I can fish for 12 more days.

I heard my baby's heart beat today!!!! My husband and I are thrilled and so happy to be adding to our little family. We aren't going to find out what it is till its born, but we will get to see it in about six weeks. The technology that is available today is such a blessing. I have a great doctor and things are going smoothly. :)

I want to post a note to the kids and teens of today. DO NOT GIVE UP!!!! For thousands of years since the beginging of time there has been evil in the world around you. There are many who would have you believe that you won't make, that is is okay to do what ever, and that nobody cares. This is a LIE. I am here to tell you that you can and must make it, and that it is not okay to do whatever. There are more people, who love and care for you, that are willing to give you there all to make sure you are happy and healthy, and enjoy life. I surrvived my childhood and love being an independant adult, because of a mother who put me first and taught me everything she knew. I have a sence of self worth and desire to do what is right and to know and be truth, becuase of a father who never gives up and truly loves his family. I know what love and friendship is becuase of brothers who guard and protect me and sisters who look up to me and show unconditional love.
I send great and insuffitant amounts of gratitude to and for a family, who have devoted time, money, and self to me and my life. I am Happy, I am healthy, I love life and the God who created me and gave me these gifts. There is no other way to find the joy we read about in the scriptures. Be brave, be true, be honest, and be the Child of God that you are.

I love to read! It is one of my favorite past times. The book I am currently reading is a classic called Jane Eyre by Emily Bronte. It is a wonderful love story with lots of character building undertones. Bravery and inner strength help bring the story to a happy ending after all. I highly recommend it.

The ultimate 17 days

My Dear Sweet Randy is coming this week!!!! Friday will be the beginning of a 17-day stay. He is in the navy, currently stationed in Goose Creek South Carolina. He finished the first part of school last month and has been working 12 hours on 24 hours off. He is still trying to figure out how to sleep around that schedule. He will be transferred next june some time. Not much going here at home just getting things cleaned up. I don’t cook much for myself but when he comes home for a visit I cook a lot. I had to fill up the cavernous space in my fridge. I was down to ketchup and jams. You know the basics :) We have lots planned and can't wait to spend time together. :)

Randy came to see me this weekend. It was short but sweet, and it didn't go by too fast. We spent every min together and had a great time with our families and friends. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts we need them. What a blessing to be able to travel so far so fast. I love living in the age of technology!!! Next time he comes will be in June and he will be here for almost two weeks!!!! I am looking forward to it every day!! :)

The light in my living room is dangling by it's cord.
The baby chickens escaped and the cats are after them.
I tripped and fell on the concrete and wood in my back yard.
So now I have slivers. The handle on my back door fell off, and so did the lock.
I tripped over a pipe in the back yard, and created a geyser.
In my travels back and forth to and from the water main I hit my head so hard on the roof of the chicken coop that I have a goose egg.
My crazy rabbit won't take care of her babies so they are all gone!
The cow got out and was in the feed barn. My car is making funny noises. I have had a terrible horrible no good very bad day!!! Covered with bruses, scraches, burrs and bumps. I am going back to bed.
Tomorrow will be wonderful because my fiancé will be coming for a few days :)

Wedding Plans

Hello Friends and Family
I will be using my blogger to keep you all updated on wedding plans and activities. Randy and I are getting married September 10th 2005. We will be married in the Redlands Temple Saturday morning. Then the reception and ring ceremony will be at my parent’s home that evening. Randy is currently stationed in Charleston South Carolina. He goes to school full time and so we will be flying home Sunday so he can be back for classes Monday morning. The Honeymoon will have to wait till he is out of school. I will be looking for a job there, probably in dentistry, while I apply to dental hygiene schools in South Carolina. We will be there for about two years, and then he will be transferred to another base for duty. If you have any questions or coments please post them and I will respond as soon as possable.
